Sr. Staff Engineer - High-Speed Interface Pre-Silicon Validation/Verification

Role Summary

Lead emulation- and pre-silicon validation/verification efforts for high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR, Ethernet) and related IP. Provide technical leadership to define emulation IP requirements, integrate emulation platforms into verification strategies, and ensure production-ready IP delivery.

This role partners with design, IP, and system teams to close feature gaps between Emulation IP and Design IP, validate controller and PHY functionality, and improve verification quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on emulation IP, verification strategy, cross-team collaboration, and technical leadership.

• Bridge gaps between available Emulation IP features and Design IP verification for controller and PHY domains.
• Define requirements for Emulation IP and ensure correct implementation within verification plans.
• Deploy and operate emulation platforms (e.g., Zebu) for IP verification and validation.
• Review and validate test plans to ensure feature and functional coverage.
• Report key verification metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Interpret industry standards, ECNs, and specification errata and incorporate changes into verification and emulation strategies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to standardize methodologies and optimize workflows.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers to build verification capability and consistency.
