Job Title
Sr. Staff Engineer, Analog Design
Role Summary
Senior analog/mixed-signal design engineer responsible for architecture, transistor-level circuit design, and silicon validation of high-performance analog IP for advanced CMOS nodes. The role works across layout, verification, SoC integration and system engineering teams to deliver reusable IP for next-generation products.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 10+ years of experience in analog mixed-signal design.
Responsibilities
Deliver and validate complex analog and mixed-signal IP, lead technical reviews, and provide mentorship and cross-functional coordination.
- Define architecture and drive transistor-level design of analog blocks (op-amps, comparators, ADC/DAC, bandgaps, regulators, monitors).
- Perform schematic design, simulation, corner and Monte Carlo analysis to ensure robust performance across PVT and variation.
- Collaborate with layout, verification, SoC integration and system teams to manage parasitics, AMS simulations, and downstream integration.
- Plan and execute silicon bring-up, validation, and characterization; define test and bring-up procedures.
- Establish verification strategy and own deliverables for integration into SoCs.
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, and establish analog design best practices and reusable IP platforms.
- Drive design-for-test and cost reduction initiatives where applicable.
- Stay current with semiconductor design techniques and contribute to technical forums and improvements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, tools experience, and personal capabilities for the role.
- Minimum 10+ years of end-to-end analog/mixed-signal IP design and delivery, including concept-to-silicon experience.
- Deep understanding of CMOS analog fundamentals: noise, stability, compensation, mismatch, variation, and low-power design techniques.
- Proven ability in transistor-level design, simulation, and verification using industry-standard EDA tools.
- Experience with Cadence/Virtuoso-based analog simulation flows; familiarity with Synopsys and Ansys toolsets.
- Basic scripting and automation skills (Perl, Python) for design and verification tasks.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills; proven silicon bring-up and laboratory debugging experience.
- Ability to perform corner, Monte Carlo, and reliability analyses and interpret results for design robustness.
- Excellent communication, documentation skills, and ability to work effectively in global cross-disciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring experience within engineering teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
