Senior RF System Engineer (NFC-Mobile) (m/f/d)
Role Summary
Lead RF system validation for NFC solutions targeted at mobile devices. Work within a cross-functional development team to plan, execute, debug and report RF validation activities across the product lifecycle.
Provide technical leadership, improve validation workflows through automation, and support customer design-in and support activities to ensure product interoperability and compliance with industry standards.
Experience Level
Senior β minimum 5 years of professional experience in RF engineering or a comparable area.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focused on RF validation, technical leadership, and process improvement:
- Lead RF-related NFC system validation projects for mobile products within a global cross-functional team.
- Plan, track, execute, debug, and report validation activities throughout development.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior RF engineers during validation and debugging.
- Develop and integrate software tools and automation to increase validation coverage and efficiency.
- Analyze and optimize RF performance to meet interoperability and industry requirements (e.g., ISO/IEC 14443, NFC Forum, EMVCo).
- Support customer engagements and design-in activities with technical expertise.
Requirements
Core skills and experience required; items marked as "Nice-to-have" are optional but beneficial.

Must-have: Minimum 5 years professional experience in RF engineering or comparable area.

Must-have: Solid understanding of RF communication systems including modulation and coding, transmitter and receiver architectures, and components such as PLLs and DC-DC converters.

Must-have: Advanced programming and data analysis skills, particularly MATLAB and Python.

Must-have: Hands-on experience with RF simulation tools (e.g., ADS, SPICE) or similar environments.

Must-have: Strong ownership, organized and analytical working style, attention to detail, and excellent written and spoken English.

Must-have: Ability to work reliably on security-related tasks and follow security certification processes.

Nice-to-have: Prior experience specifically with mobile NFC products, interoperability testing, or EMVCo/NFC Forum/ISO standard implementation.
Education Requirements
Master's degree from a Technical University or University of Applied Sciences (FH) in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Information Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
