Role Summary
The Sr. Staff Application Engineer will drive technical readiness, methodology, and customer deployments for FPGA-based prototyping and hardware-assisted verification (HAV). This role partners with Product Management, R&D, field teams, and customers to define requirements, lead anchor projects, and deliver practical flows for HW/SW validation and software bring-up.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 8+ years of experience in FPGA prototyping, hardware-assisted verification, or complex systems engineering.
Responsibilities
Deliver practical, repeatable solutions that improve deployment success and release readiness for FPGA prototyping and related HAV workflows.
- Define and validate software requirements and readiness criteria for FPGA prototyping with HAPS in coordination with PM and R&D.
- Lead anchor projects demonstrating FPGA prototyping, HW/SW validation, and software bring-up use cases.
- Support strategic customer deployments and bring-ups; troubleshoot and resolve technical blockers in the field.
- Develop reusable use cases, solution flows, and methodology to accelerate adoption across the HAV portfolio.
- Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Field AE, and Marketing to translate customer needs into technical direction.
- Create technical collateral: demos, application notes, and methodology content.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience required to be effective in this role.
- Proven hands-on experience with FPGA-based prototyping and hardware-assisted verification (HAV) workflows.
- Strong understanding of HW/SW validation, software bring-up, debug methodologies, and compile/implementation optimization.
- Experience troubleshooting bring-up and debug issues in real customer environments.
- Track record of influencing R&D, Product Management, and field teams to drive technical direction and execution.
- Ability to translate customer pain points into product, methodology, and deployment improvements.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; able to produce technical collateral and run anchor projects.
-
Nice-to-have: prior experience with HAPS products, release-readiness processes, or publishing application notes and customer-facing methodology content; advanced degree.
