Job Title

Sr. Software Development Engineer

Role Summary

Join Xilinx (an AMD subsidiary) to research, design, develop, and test systems‑level software, compilers, and network/distribution software for semiconductor and GPU platforms. Work on software and tools that support operating systems, compilers, graphics stacks, and infrastructure for new products.

The role works with cross‑functional engineering teams to define requirements and architectures, drive technically significant projects, and deliver software solutions with independent judgment and minimal supervision.

Experience Level

Responsibilities

Primary technical responsibilities include:

  • Research, design, implement, troubleshoot, and debug systems‑level software, compilers, and related tools.
  • Define software requirements and architectures for enhancements and new products.
  • Develop tools and infrastructure for operating systems, compilers, networking, utilities, databases, and cloud‑based workflows.
  • Specify and integrate proprietary hardware/software platform components.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver systems‑level solutions and drive projects of significant technical importance.
  • Exercise independent judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
  • Work with GPU and graphics stacks relevant to product features (architecture, 3D pipeline, GPU programming).
  • Travel: none required.

Requirements

Minimum required skills and experience:

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in the role or a closely related engineering position.
  • Experience with LLVM compiler technologies.
  • Knowledge of graphics standards (DirectX, OpenGL, OpenCL or similar).
  • Familiarity with GPU architecture and the 3D pipeline.
  • GPU programming experience.
  • Strong object‑oriented design skills.
  • Experience with memory management and multi‑threading.
  • Solid understanding of data structures.
  • Proficiency with Git.
  • Proficiency in C or C++.

Education Requirements

Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
