Job Title

Sr RF Module Design Engineer (m/f/d)

Role Summary

Design and integrate RF front-end modules (PAs, LNAs, switches, filters, etc.) into compact multi-chip modules (MCM) for mobile applications. Work across simulation, characterization, and production ramp to meet customer specifications and performance targets.

Experience Level

Senior. The posting indicates professional level with guidance of approximately 3+ years of related experience (or equivalent advanced education and experience).

Responsibilities

The role focuses on module-level design, simulation, characterization, and ramp support for RF modules used in mobile systems.

  • Design and integrate PAs, LNAs, switches, filters, and other components into compact multi-chip modules for mobile applications.
  • Analyze customer specifications and develop module architectures to meet requirements.
  • Perform and refine schematic and EM simulations of laminate-based modules using ADS/AWR and HFSS (or equivalent tools).
  • Characterize samples, analyze performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve simulation accuracy.
  • Define and organize characterization, design verification, test plans, and production ramp support.
  • Document and present design results to internal teams and customers.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience required. "Preferred" items are listed when applicable.

  • 3+ years of related RF/microwave module design experience in the 1–10 GHz range or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proficiency with circuit and EM simulation tools such as ADS/AWR and HFSS (or equivalents).
  • Strong RF system knowledge (ACLR, NF, IP3, RX sensitivity, isolation requirements, etc.).
  • Familiarity with 4G and 5G cellular protocols and relevant frequency bands.
  • Experience with schematic/EM workflows for laminate-based modules and improving simulation-to-measurement correlation.
  • Ability to organize and support testing, characterization, and production ramp activities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to meet tight schedules, and work both independently and in teams.
  • Nice to have: basic digital circuit knowledge and software/programming skills for automation or data analysis.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required; PhD in Electrical Engineering preferred. The posting allows an equivalent amount of advanced education and experience in lieu of the stated degrees. Field emphasis: Electrical/Electronic engineering with RF/microwave focus.
