Job Title

Sr Principal Engineer - CAD, SoC Floorplan and Advanced Technode

Role Summary

Lead development and optimization of SoC floorplan and technology methodologies for advanced process nodes and multi-die systems within Solutions Engineering.

Collaborate with architecture, IP, foundry, EDA, package and implementation teams to drive PPA and signoff convergence for sub-2nm and future nodes.

Experience Level

Senior-level (principal). Typically 7+ years of relevant ASIC/SoC implementation and advanced-node experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive technology optimization for PPA at sub-2nm and future nodes, focusing on floorplan, IP, power grid, implementation and signoff convergence.
  • Develop and improve SoC and core floorplan methodologies for hierarchical and multi-die (2.5D/3D) designs.
  • Translate foundry and DTCO capabilities into production strategies for libraries, memories, routing, power delivery and clocking.
  • Build scalable automation and AI-assisted methods for technology exploration, PPA optimization, floorplan evaluation and convergence.
  • Work cross-functionally with IP, architecture, implementation and package teams to establish reference methodologies for advanced-node products.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Advanced-node technology and implementation expertise, including sub-2nm considerations.
  • Hands-on experience with hierarchical SoC floorplanning, feedthroughs and integration for multi-die systems.
  • Experience with low-power methodologies, UPF-based implementation, chip finishing and signoff flows.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills (Python, C), familiarity with EDA tools, Git and distributed compute environments.
  • Proven ability to lead technical initiatives across multi-functional teams and collaborate with architecture, foundry, EDA and ecosystem partners.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted build automation and large-scale PPA exploration.
