Job Title

Sr. Manager Formal Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead and grow a team of formal verification engineers responsible for formal signoff and verification of critical IP used across AMD products. Drive methodology, execution, and cross-team collaboration to meet verification commitments and improve verification quality.

Work is focused on delivering scalable formal verification practices and execution for complex chip designs.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Leadership experience managing engineering teams is required; specific years of experience not specified.

Responsibilities

The role combines technical leadership, team management, and delivery ownership for formal verification across multiple IP projects.

  • Lead and develop a high-performance Formal Verification team (20+ engineers).
  • Define, improve, and drive methodology for full formal signoff.
  • Plan, execute, and deliver verification commitments for critical IP used across products.
  • Mentor and coach engineers across a range of seniority levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders (design, verification, architecture) to align goals and schedules.
  • Promote automation and process improvements to increase team efficiency.
  • Communicate technical status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.

Requirements

Key skills and experience required or strongly preferred.

  • Must-have: Proven hands-on experience in Formal Verification and driving formal signoff methodology.
  • Must-have: Experience leading and managing high-performance engineering teams.
  • Must-have: Strong communication, presentation, and technical-writing skills.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability; self-starter mentality.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with other verification methods and broader chip development.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience implementing automation to improve verification workflow and team efficiency.
  • Nice-to-have: Track record of mentoring engineers and planning projects to meet commitments.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
