Sr. Firmware Engineer

Senior firmware engineer responsible for designing, developing, debugging, and testing operating-system-level software, low-level drivers, and supporting tools for semiconductor platforms. The role sits within AMD/Xilinx firmware systems teams working on post-silicon platforms and system-level software for x86-64 hardware.

Responsibilities
Key duties include design, implementation, and validation of system firmware and supporting software.
- Research, design, develop, and test OS-level software, compilers, and system distribution software for semiconductor products.
- Develop and debug low-level device drivers and kernel/system components.
- Implement memory management and multi-threading solutions for firmware and system software.
- Develop tools and infrastructure to support electronic design and post-silicon validation.
- Analyze hardware/software interaction, determine hardware compatibility, and provide feedback to hardware design teams.
- Work on complex system-level problems with limited supervision, selecting appropriate methods and evaluation criteria.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant engineering experience in firmware or systems software roles.
- Experience with post-silicon platforms and bring-up.
- OS kernel and systems development experience.
- Strong knowledge of memory management and multi-threading.
- Experience developing low-level device drivers.
- Familiarity with x86-64 architecture.
Education Requirements
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field is required.
