Job Title

Senior SoC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Lead pre-silicon verification for PCIe logic in advanced AI SoCs and chiplets. Drive verification coverage, compliance, interoperability, and bring-up features that are critical to silicon success.

Work on a cross-functional verification team collaborating with architecture, RTL, system, and platform engineers to deliver robust connectivity subsystems.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Final level will be calibrated during the interview process and offers will align to the assessed level.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on pre-silicon PCIe verification across SoCs and chiplets.

  • Design, develop, and maintain verification environments for PCIe controller and PHY-facing logic.
  • Create and execute test scenarios covering link training, enumeration, power management, error handling, and data movement.
  • Drive coverage closure: identify gaps, write tests, and measure progress against goals.
  • Debug failures, root-cause issues in simulation, and coordinate fixes with RTL and architecture teams.
  • Automate protocol and interoperability test flows and integrate verification with platform bring-up activities.
  • Integrate productivity tooling and AI-driven automation into verification workflows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and role constraints first; followed by useful additions.

  • Expertise in UVM-based verification methodologies applied to PCIe controller, LTSSM, PHY-facing logic, and protocol flows.
  • Deep understanding of PCIe architecture, link behavior, compliance, and interoperability testing (PCIe Gen4/Gen5 experience preferred).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills for building test flows and harnesses; experience integrating simulation, regression, and coverage tools.
  • Proven ability to analyze coverage data, debug complex failures, and work directly with RTL and architecture teams to resolve issues.
  • Familiarity with cocotb-like tools and advanced verification automation is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid model based out of Boston, MA; Santa Clara, CA; or Toronto, ON.
  • Employment is contingent on eligibility to access U.S. export-controlled technology; candidates must meet applicable export-control requirements.

Education Requirements

Not specified.

Compensation range for engineers at the company is stated as $100,000–$500,000 total compensation, varying by experience, role level, and location.
