Sr. Engineer, PCB Power Design
Role Summary
Design and optimize power distribution systems for next-generation AI accelerator cards. Contribute across the full power design lifecycle: component selection, simulation, schematic guidance, board bring-up, validation, debugging, and production readiness. Collaborate with hardware, firmware/software, thermal, mechanical, and validation teams to deliver reliable high-performance power architectures.

Responsibilities
Deliver hands-on power design and validation for high-performance PCB projects and support cross-functional integration.
- Design and optimize PCB power distribution networks (PDNs) for AI accelerator and datacenter cards.
- Select components and define power architectures and topologies (multi-phase buck, boost, STC, TLVR, magnetics).
- Perform simulations and analysis (power integrity, VR tuning, PDN optimization) and provide schematic/layout guidance.
- Execute lab bring-up, prototyping, testing, measurement, and post-silicon debugging of VRMs and power systems.
- Address EMI/EMC, thermal management, and compliance with relevant standards during design and validation.
- Work closely with firmware/software, mechanical, thermal, and validation teams to integrate power design into the full system.
- Prepare designs for production readiness and support manufacturing validation.
Requirements
Key technical skills and practical experience required or strongly preferred.
- Must-have: Practical experience designing, analyzing, and debugging power distribution systems for high-performance or high-power products.
- Must-have: Hands-on lab experience with VRM bring-up, prototyping, testing, power consumption analysis, and post-silicon troubleshooting.
- Must-have: Experience with power analysis and simulation tools such as Simplis, PSim, PowerDC, PowerSI, or similar, and familiarity with enterprise eCAD tools.
- Must-have: Deep understanding of power architectures and control theory, including voltage regulator tuning, power integrity, and PDN optimization.
- Must-have: Knowledge of PCB design, EMI/EMC practices, and thermal management.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Familiarity with PCIe CEM, PMBus, AVSBus, OCP/OAM, and PCIe graphics or datacenter system designs.
- Preferred: Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across hardware, firmware, thermal, mechanical, and validation teams.
