Senior Engineer, Memory CAD β Guadalajara
Role Summary
Provide CAD engineering leadership and day-to-day support for tool flows and methodologies used by HBM and other memory design teams at Micron's Guadalajara Design Center.
Collaborate with design, layout, and verification teams to develop and deploy CAD capabilities across mixed-signal and transistor-level custom IC design flows, including application of machine learning where applicable.

Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include supporting CAD tools and flows for memory design and collaborating to advance CAD capabilities and methodologies.
- Provide day-to-day support for CAD tools, flows, and collateral for HBM design teams.
- Collaborate with HBM design, layout, and verification methodology teams to propose and co-develop advanced capabilities and best practices.
- Support mixed-signal and transistor-level custom IC design: logical design, custom layout, parameterized cells, automated place-and-route, and physical design verification.
- Perform layout parasitic extraction, pre- and post-layout netlisting and simulation, digital and analog circuit simulation, timing and power analysis, and reliability simulation and analysis.
- Support tape-out and mask generation activities and tool qualification for production flows.
- Apply AI/ML techniques to CAD automation and analysis where appropriate.

- Must-have: 5+ years of direct CAD or IC design experience in mixed-signal/custom IC design flows.
- Must-have: Proven experience working in technical IC Design or CAD teams distributed globally.
- Must-have: Familiarity with memory design and standards (DDR3/4/5, LP3/4/5, HBM, NAND).
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with parasitic extraction, timing and power analysis, circuit simulation, physical verification, and tape-out flows.
- Must-have: Proficiency with CAD tools and scripting for tool customization and automation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience qualifying vendor tools and internally developed software releases.
- Nice-to-have: Ability to develop software prototypes for layout, analysis, or CAD automation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience running agile software sprints and delivering production-grade ML applications for IC design.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree required; Master's or PhD preferred in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
