Senior Engineer - Design (SoC DFT)

Role Summary

Senior SoC DFT engineer responsible for designing and verifying design-for-test architectures and solutions (ATPG, MBIST, LBIST, scan insertion and analog test). The role supports the silicon lifecycle from RTL integration through silicon bring-up and production test, collaborating with design, verification, test and backend teams.

Experience Level

Senior (title contains "Sr"). Note: the posting also states the position may suit recent graduates or engineers with up to two years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design and implement DFT architectures: ATPG, MBIST, LBIST, scan insertion and analog test features under manager guidance.
• Generate and optimize test patterns to minimize test time while maximizing coverage and yield.
• Integrate DFT requirements into RTL and physical design flows in collaboration with design, verification and backend teams.
• Develop automation scripts (Tcl, Python, Perl) for pattern creation, validation and analysis.
• Analyze test data from silicon bring-up and production to identify improvements and support root-cause debugging.
• Document DFT implementations, test results and reusable IP for team knowledge sharing.
• Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and perform work safely and responsibly.

Requirements

Must-have:

• Strong foundation in digital design fundamentals.
• Coursework or project experience with Verilog or SystemVerilog.
• Experience with at least one scripting language (Python, Tcl/Tk, Perl).
• Ability to analyze technical problems, debug complex systems, and communicate findings clearly.
• Self-motivated, collaborative team player with willingness to learn new tools and methodologies.
• Ability to work effectively within a cross-functional technical team.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience using Git or another version-control system.
• Experience debugging simulation results using logs and waveforms.
• Familiarity with running EDA design tools in a UNIX environment.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a related field; OR a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2+ years of relevant industry experience. Coursework or project experience in Verilog/SystemVerilog and related digital design topics is referenced as part of the qualifications.
