Sr Engineer, Assembly & Test Central QA

Role Summary

This position is part of the Backend Quality Assurance team at Micron's Taichung Fab 16. The senior engineer ensures product and process quality for assembly and test operations through investigations, change control, MRB participation, audits, and cross‑functional quality improvement.

Work involves leading root‑cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions, and driving containment and recovery for quality issues.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 3+ years of experience in semiconductor assembly/test or quality engineering.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Assess 8D reports and corrective & preventive actions to assure QA governance and closure.
• Drive containment, recovery, and root cause analysis for quality issues and implement corrective solutions.
• Perform audits and evaluations to ensure adherence to quality benchmarks and report performance discrepancies.
• Review and approve changes via the Global Change Process (GCP) to ensure accurate change implementation.
• Participate in MRB events and deploy defect‑reduction strategies for continuous improvement.
• Lead cross‑functional collaboration to close quality gaps and pursue improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills and experience.

• Must-have: 3+ years in semiconductor assembly/test or quality engineering; proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization; strong collaboration skills across global teams.
• Nice-to-have: Knowledge of advanced packaging (wafer‑level bumping, flip‑chip assembly); familiarity with JMP, Power BI, SQL, Tableau; supplier quality management and risk assessment; experience leading cross‑site projects and virtual teams; strong English communication.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
