Sr. DFT Engineer, Amazon Leo
AmazonJob Title
Sr. DFT Engineer, Amazon Leo
Role Summary
Work on Amazon LEO's digital SoC design team to define and implement DFT solutions for communications chips used in Low Earth Orbit satellites and gateway equipment. The role interfaces with modem, RFIC, ASIC implementation, and test engineering teams to achieve high fault coverage and manufacturability in advanced CMOS nodes.
Experience Level
Senior. Minimum 5+ years relevant experience in advanced DFT; 7+ years preferred.
Responsibilities
Design and delivery responsibilities focused on DFT strategy, integration, and validation across multiple chip projects.
- Architect and define DFT solutions tailored to each LEO chip.
- Customize IP and DFT methodology; integrate AI-assisted flow improvements.
- Collaborate with ASIC teams to insert DFT logic such as MBIST, clock controls, and JTAG controllers.
- Coordinate with RFIC engineers to ensure fault coverage for mixed-signal RF blocks.
- Work with implementation teams to meet DFT, timing, and power targets.
- Partner with Test Engineering to translate ATE patterns and support chip bring-up.
Requirements
Key qualifications and constraints for candidates.
- Must-have: 5+ years experience with advanced DFT techniques for deep sub-micron nodes.
- Must-have: Experience implementing DFT methodology and developing automation/scripts for DFT insertion and validation.
- Must-have: Practical experience working with ASIC design and test teams to integrate MBIST, clock control logic, and JTAG.
- Must-have: Must meet export-control eligibility: U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card), refugee, or asylee.
- Nice-to-have: Exposure to Logic BIST and RFIC collaboration on large mixed-signal chips.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with automotive-quality targets (single-digit DPPM) and AI/ML-based automation for DFT flows.
- Nice-to-have: 7+ years of DFT experience (preferred).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Communications Engineering is indicated as basic qualification, with equivalent practical experience accepted. Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical/Communications Engineering is preferred.
