Job Title

Sr Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and verify analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit blocks at the transistor level. Work includes circuit design, simulation, lab characterization of silicon, behavioral modeling, and collaboration with layout teams to meet performance and area targets.

Position is based in Greensboro with a hybrid schedule: 4 days in the office and 1 day work-from-home optional within reasonable commuting distance.

Experience Level

Senior-level. Requires several years of hands-on analog/mixed-signal IC design and verification experience (see Requirements for details).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include design, verification, and characterization of analog and mixed-signal ICs.

  • Transistor-level design and simulation of analog/mixed-signal blocks (examples: amplifiers, bandgaps, LDOs, Schmitt triggers, charge pumps, power-on reset).
  • Participate in and lead design reviews; produce design documentation and present results.
  • Perform bench-level lab verification and characterization of fabricated ICs.
  • Behavioral modeling of circuits and creation of checks/assert files; analyze reliability concerns.
  • Floor planning and physical layout optimization to meet area and matching constraints; collaborate with layout designers.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and work authorization; education requirements are listed separately.

  • Minimum of 3 years designing and verifying analog/mixed-signal circuit blocks, including experience with at least four block types listed above.
  • Hands-on experience with transistor-level simulation and circuit verification.
  • Familiarity with the Cadence design tool suite.
  • Experience with bench lab evaluation and silicon characterization.
  • Experience in floor planning and layout optimization for matching and area reduction.
  • Experience in behavioral modeling, reliability analysis, and creating asserts/check files.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have: experience with power-management circuits and mixed-signal verification environments.

Education Requirements

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering required (posting specifies Master’s in EE). No equivalent-experience language was provided.
