Senior Design Enablement (CAD)
Role Summary
Join Micron's EDA and Design Enablement team to develop and maintain EDA tools, flows, and automation that support CMOS design and verification at scale. The role partners with design, layout, and process teams to diagnose issues, implement scalable methodologies, and enable successful tapeouts.
Experience Level
Senior-level. The posting specifies 2+ years of relevant CAD/VLSI or semiconductor engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and support CAD software, EDA tools, flows, and methodologies for CMOS design and verification.
- Debug, evaluate, and support in-house and commercial EDA solutions in production environments.
- Develop P-cells, scripts, and automation for physical design, verification, optimization, and tapeout.
- Collaborate with design, power/IR, and process teams to resolve workflow and tool issues and implement scalable layout methodologies aligned with PDKs.
- Document processes and provide training and end-user support.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 2+ years of experience in CAD, VLSI, or a related semiconductor engineering role.
- Programming experience in SKILL/Skill++ (Cadence), Python, and/or Perl.
- Experience with PDK development or validation and familiarity with Cadence EDA tools and flows.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, databases, and version control systems.
- Ability to debug and support EDA tools in a production environment and communicate effectively in a collaborative engineering setting.
Nice-to-have:
- Understanding of CMOS process fundamentals and layout design rules.
- Familiarity with photo/metrology marks and layout design considerations.
- Prior experience supporting or developing EDA design tools, flows, and automation for physical design, verification, or tapeout.
- Experience mentoring engineers and promoting engineering best practices, including AI-assisted development practices.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (specified as the minimum qualification in the posting).
