Sr Design Automation Engineer, Simulation

Role Summary

Join the CAD/Design Automation team to develop, optimize, and implement analog and digital circuit simulation and verification flows. Work with global design and verification teams and EDA vendors to improve pre-silicon quality, reduce failures, and accelerate time-to-market.

Senior - typically requires 5+ years of industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining simulation flows, integrating tools, and providing technical leadership.

• Collaborate with memory design and verification teams to resolve simulation and verification challenges.
• Identify areas for improvement in flows and develop robust solutions.
• Design and implement scalable, maintainable software for CAD flows.
• Evaluate, integrate, and work with EDA vendors and tools to support CAD flows.
• Lead implementation of AI-assisted and automated/agentic workflows for circuit simulation and verification.
• Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers.
• Work cross-functionally to meet product quality, reliability, and schedule targets.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and demonstrable experience.

• Experience with analog circuit simulation flows.
• Expertise in circuit simulation debugging and contemporary simulation methodologies.
• Hands-on experience with one or more circuit simulators (e.g., Finesim, Primesim, XA, Spectre, VCS, Xcelium).
• Hands-on experience with Cadence Virtuoso platforms (Virtuoso, Virtuoso-L, Virtuoso-XL), schematic capture, or Synopsys Custom Compiler or equivalent.
• Experience integrating EDA tools and working with EDA vendors.
• Demonstrated ability to develop scalable software and provide technical leadership.

• Experience developing and deploying AI-enabled methodologies for simulation flows.
• Object-oriented programming with Python or Perl.
• Familiarity with CMOS fundamentals and parasitic extraction tools (StarRC, Quantus).
• Knowledge of Linux, LSF, shell scripting, TCL, and SKILL (Cadence).
• Experience with EM/IR analysis, STA (Static Timing Analysis), or AI/ML applied to EDA workflows.
• Proven experience working with global teams and stakeholders.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field; typically 5+ years of industry experience.
