Job Title

Senior Deep Learning Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Validate and optimize next-generation NPU silicon by designing and executing pre-silicon verification strategies. Work on the NPU Hardware Pre-Silicon Validation team in Leixlip, collaborating with design engineers, model engineers, and AI architects to deliver sign‑off quality verification for NPU IP.

Experience Level

Senior - typically requires 8+ years of relevant industry experience in pre-silicon validation of IP, ASIC, SoC or FPGA designs.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform functional verification of complex digital design blocks for NPU/AI accelerators.
  • Architect, develop and implement verification environments from planning through validation lifecycle and signoff.
  • Create test plans and test cases; implement random test generators, high-level transactional models, and bus functional models (BFMs).
  • Develop functional/formal constraints, checkers, scoreboards, coverpoints/covergroups and SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA).
  • Implement software-based testcases for functional and performance validation of NPUs.
  • Drive coverage closure, debug complex failures, and coordinate cross-functional validation activities.
  • Collaborate with architects and product teams to align verification with next-generation AI requirements.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • 8+ years of industry experience in pre-silicon validation of IP, ASIC, SoC, or FPGA designs.
  • Proficiency with verification languages and methodologies such as SystemVerilog, VCS, and UVM/OVM.
  • Proven experience building testbenches, verification environments, and achieving coverage-based signoff.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with C-based software/driver development and testing.
  • Experience validating low-power and high-performance HW accelerators.
  • Familiarity with formal verification techniques and tools.
  • Knowledge of Git and CI practices; understanding of SoC CPUs, NoCs, AMBA protocols, and memory controllers.
  • Understanding of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (specified as a minimum requirement in the posting).
