Job Title
Senior CPU DV Engineer
Role Summary
Lead verification strategy, architecture validation, and closure for high-performance CPU core microarchitectures. Work with architecture and design teams to ensure functional correctness, performance, and silicon-quality delivery of CPU cores.
Experience Level
Senior β requires 4+ years of relevant CPU verification experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification for CPU core components and delivering coverage closure to silicon quality.
- Own end-to-end verification of CPU core components (Fetch, Decode, Execute, Memory, Pipeline, Cache, MMU).
- Define and execute DV strategy and detailed test plans from architecture specifications.
- Implement and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, scoreboards, checkers, and coverage models (functional and code).
- Develop constrained-random tests and drive regression suites; debug complex failures across simulation and emulation platforms.
- Validate microarchitectural features including out-of-order execution, branch prediction, cache coherency, virtual memory/paging, and RAS/Fusa.
- Collaborate with Architecture & Design teams to validate ISA behavior, corner cases, exceptions, interrupts, and compliance testing.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate contribution.
- 4+ years of CPU/core verification experience.
- Strong SystemVerilog and UVM expertise.
- Experience building testbenches, constrained-random tests, scoreboards, and checkers.
- Proven track record with coverage-driven verification (functional and code coverage) and achieving closure.
- Experience with simulation and emulation platforms and regression/debug workflows.
- Knowledge of ISA behavior (RISC-V, ARM, or x86) and experience performing ISA-level validation and compliance testing.
- Familiarity with microarchitectural features: out-of-order execution, branch prediction, cache coherency, virtual memory/MMU, and RAS/Fusa.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with formal verification, silicon bring-up, or hardware performance validation.
- Prior work on high-performance CPU core projects.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
