Job Title

Senior ASIC EDA Workflow Engineer

Role Summary

Lead EDA tool flow management and engineering workflow development for Tensordyne’s multimodal generative AI inference ASIC products. This is a hands-on senior role that drives implementation, optimization and scaling of EDA toolchains and automation for the full chip design flow.

You will work closely with ASIC design and verification engineers to improve workflows, integrate new tools, and deliver reliable, high-performance EDA systems in a fast-paced startup environment.

Experience Level

Senior. No explicit years-of-experience specification provided.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include ownership of EDA workflows, toolchain automation, and operational support across the ASIC design lifecycle.

  • Design, implement, and maintain EDA tool flows and automation for synthesis, place-and-route, STA, LVS/DRC, and signoff.
  • Develop and support build automation and project generators (CMake, GNU make, Ninja) and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Install, package, and manage EDA tool versions and deployments; coordinate upgrades and rollbacks.
  • Manage license systems (e.g., FlexLM) and ensure reliable tool access for engineering teams.
  • Debug and resolve EDA tool issues, working directly with EDA vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Optimize tool flows for performance, scalability, and repeatability across continuous integration systems.
  • Build internal utilities and scripts to streamline designer workflows and reduce manual steps.
  • Collaborate with ASIC design and verification engineers to gather requirements, document workflows, and train users.

Requirements

Candidate must be hands-on with EDA workflows and capable of delivering automation, tool support, and operational reliability.

  • Must-have:
    • Hands-on ASIC engineering experience with VLSI/SoC design and verification workflows and EDA tool suites (Synopsys and/or Cadence).
    • Experience with build automation and project generators (CMake, GNU make, Ninja), CI/CD, and modern Git branching workflows.
    • Linux system administration and cloud DevOps experience supporting EDA tools.
    • Strong programming and debugging skills for automation (scripting languages to automate tasks and debug tool issues).
    • Experience installing new EDA tool versions, managing FlexLM licenses, and troubleshooting with EDA vendors.
    • Good written and verbal communication and ability to collaborate across a distributed engineering team.
  • Nice-to-have:
    • Experience developing internal EDA tooling or DevOps platforms for ASIC teams.
    • Interest or background in generative AI accelerator architectures.
    • Prior mentorship or technical leadership within EDA or ASIC teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
