Sr Applications Engineer
Role Summary
Senior Applications Engineer providing RF applications support for switches and RFICs. The role supports customers and reference-design partners through design, validation, and post-production phases, and provides system-level feedback to internal design teams.
Primary focus areas include evaluation board testing and debugging, reference-design enablement, documentation for product release, and participation in new standards and RFIC product development.
Experience Level
Professional / Senior role. Minimum ~3 years of relevant RF or applications engineering experience is expected.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Enable company RF products to meet performance targets on customer reference designs and evaluation boards.
- Support Tier-1 customers and reference-design partners during design, validation and after mass production.
- Test, debug and characterize product evaluation boards and customer reference designs.
- Provide system-level feedback to internal RFIC design teams during development.
- Create and maintain product documentation: RF parameters, schematics, tunings and application notes.
- Develop marketing and technical collateral required for product adoption.
- Participate in new standards work and custom RFIC product development efforts.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Minimum ~3 years of relevant work experience in RF/applications engineering or related roles.
- Practical knowledge of Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and IoT wireless protocols and their frequency bands.
- Experience with RF circuit design, filter design, impedance matching, and PCB schematic/layout tools.
- Familiarity with communication theory, basic signal processing and modulation concepts.
- Experience performing hands-on testing, debugging and tuning of evaluation and reference boards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and coordinate with customers and internal teams.
- Experience supporting Tier‑1 customers or high-reliability production environments preferred.

Education Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or Electrical and Computer Engineering. The posting allows certain equivalencies for specified knowledge areas: for WiFi/IoT/Bluetooth knowledge, 1 year of experience, an internship, or 9 credit hours may be considered equivalent; for RF systems design, 6 months of experience, an internship, or 6 credit hours may be considered equivalent.
