Senior Application Engineer - Tessent Design for Test (DFT)
Role Summary
Work with sales and field technical teams to define and lead technical engagements that support sales campaigns for Siemens EDA Tessent DFT and related silicon test solutions.
Main objectives are driving product adoption at customer sites, developing and implementing technical sales plans, and providing technical leadership for assigned accounts.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 8 to 12 years of relevant experience as an Applications Engineer, ASIC Design Engineer, or similar role.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical sales support, customer engagement, and methodology development.
- Create and deploy methodologies, flows, and integrations to drive product adoption and enable customer pilot projects.
- Assist with infrastructure, debugging, and bring-up of new methodologies and flows at customer sites.
- Develop relationships across customer organizations to assess technical and business requirements and implement technical sales plans.
- Uncover and qualify technical opportunities and advise the sales team on technical strategy and viability.
- Share account, evaluation, competitor, and technical information with peers, product teams, and management.
- Provide technical leadership for assigned accounts and collaborate with field teams on customer engagements.
- Perform other reasonable tasks required by management to support sales and customer success.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, compliance requirements, and professional competencies.
- Digital design experience and RTL coding in Verilog, VHDL, or both.
- Proven track record in Design for Test (DFT) for ASIC design.
- Experience with TCL scripting and general programming concepts.
- Simulation and verification expertise relevant to silicon test and DFT flows.
- Project management experience and ability to lead technical engagements.
- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, influencing, and teamwork skills.
- Self-starter who can work independently and handle problems of wide or undefined scope.
- Familiarity with basic sales tactics, marketing-related concepts, and business/financial terminology.
- Experience with Siemens Tessent DFT products is highly desirable.
- Experience with diagnosis-driven yield analysis is a plus.
- This position is subject to U.S. export control (ITAR/EAR); applicants must be a U.S. Person or able to obtain the necessary export authorization.
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) required. Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) is preferred. (No explicit equivalent-experience language stated.)
