Sr Analog Design Engineer
Role Summary
Renesas is seeking a Senior Analog IC Design Engineer for the Power Product Group, Performance Computing Power Team in Catania, Italy. The role involves the design, verification, and validation of power management ICs for advanced computing platforms, covering the full design cycle from product definition to IC validation.
Experience Level
Senior; at least 3 years of experience with a Master's degree or 5 years with a Bachelor's degree is required.
Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include:
- Performing transistor-level design of mixed-signal power management circuit blocks.
- Evaluating tradeoffs among different circuit topologies for performance and area.
- Overseeing the work of Layout Engineers.
- Writing design review documentation and preparing verification and validation plans.
- Conducting design reviews and providing feedback to ensure design quality and compliance.
- Participating in test specification development and supporting Test Engineers.
- Supporting Validation Engineer during lab debug and compliance testing.
- Assisting Application Engineering and Product Engineering.
Requirements
Essential qualifications include:
- BSc in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience; MSc with 3+ years; or PhD.
- Strong knowledge of CMOS and bipolar devices, circuit blocks, and control theory.
- Familiarity with low-voltage and high-voltage BCD technologies.
- Experience with Cadence design tools.
- Good communication skills in English.
Preferred skills include:
- Knowledge of precision current sensing techniques.
- Experience with charge pump circuits and rail-to-rail amplifiers.
- Understanding of behavioral modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with automated test methodologies.
Education Requirements
Expected educational background: BSc, MSc, or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
