Job Title

Space FPGA Engineer — RTL/Verilog, High-Throughput

Role Summary

Design, implement, verify, and delivery RTL for FPGA-based systems used in satellite communications. Work closely with software, DSP, and hardware teams to meet functional, timing, and throughput requirements for production hardware.

Experience Level

Entry-level — at least 2 years of FPGA experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Primary technical responsibilities for the role include:

  • Write and maintain RTL in Verilog/SystemVerilog for high-throughput data paths and control logic.
  • Create and run simulations and directed/random testbenches to validate RTL behavior.
  • Synthesize designs and work on timing closure and resource optimization for target FPGAs.
  • Integrate FPGA modules with DSP algorithms, embedded software, and board-level hardware.
  • Debug designs on hardware: use logic analyzers, built-in instrumentation, and bring-up tools.
  • Document design decisions, verification strategies, and release artifacts for production handoff.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • 2+ years of professional FPGA design experience.
  • Proficiency in Verilog and/or SystemVerilog for RTL design.
  • Experience with simulation and verification tools and writing testbenches.
  • Familiarity with FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx/AMD Vivado, Intel/Altera Quartus) and synthesis flows.
  • Practical experience with timing closure, resource optimization, and high-throughput datapath design.
  • Strong debugging skills with lab hardware and board-level bring-up.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with DSP implementations on FPGAs or satellite/communications systems.
  • Exposure to version control, CI for hardware, and hardware/software integration practices.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
