Solutions Engineering Architect
Role Summary
Partner with High Performance Computing (HPC) customers and internal teams to define and architect SoC solutions that integrate Synopsys IP. Drive technical evaluation, integration, tape-out and silicon bring-up while influencing product direction and supporting sales.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years of experience as a design, system, or applications engineer.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical customer engagement, solution architecture, and enabling successful integration of IP into customer designs.
- Engage with customer architects and SoC leads to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Specify architectures that integrate IP blocks into SoC subsystems.
- Drive customer success from IP evaluation through integration, tape-out and silicon bring-up.
- Develop technical collateral: architecture diagrams, design specifications, application notes and white papers.
- Provide feedback to Product Management and Design Engineering on customer requirements and priorities.
- Provide technical training to FAEs and key customers and support the sales team to secure designs.
- Travel approximately 15–30% to customer, sales, and engineering locations.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience for successful performance in this role.
- 10+ years of experience as a design, system, or applications engineer.
- Experience with interface, connectivity and memory protocols: UCIe, PCIe, Ethernet, HBM, LPDDR.
- SoC implementation experience: RTL design and verification (Verilog/SystemVerilog); synthesis and static timing analysis; physical design flow; testbench creation and simulation.
- Familiarity with analog/mixed-signal design and verification flows.
- Knowledge of high-speed PCB layout, signal integrity, assembly and manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience using lab equipment such as high-speed oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers and traffic generators.
- Strong technical communication, documentation and cross-team coordination skills.
- Prior experience selecting, using, designing, or supporting internal or external IP and prior application engineering or other direct customer-facing roles.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
