Job Title

SOI Switch Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design, simulate and validate RF switches implemented in SOI process technology. Work as part of an RF/mixed-signal design team to deliver switch circuitry, device modeling, and layout guidance that meet product performance targets.

Collaborate with CAD, layout, packaging and ESD teams to ensure robust high-frequency performance and manufacturability.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires over 12 years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design, simulate and optimize SOI RF switches and associated analog/bias circuits.
  • Develop and validate RF device and inductor models; analyze device noise and parasitics.
  • Perform circuit and EM simulations (S-parameter, harmonic-balance, envelope) to verify performance.
  • Define and review layout for RF performance; ensure LVS and DRC compliance and work with CAD engineers on implementation.
  • Collaborate with packaging and supply-isolation teams to mitigate packaging effects and high-frequency ESD issues.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on RF layout and high-frequency design trade-offs.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated switch design experience using SOI processes.
  • Deep understanding of analog and bias circuits for RF switches.
  • Expertise in RF device modeling, noise parameters, and inductor modeling.
  • Proficiency with Cadence Spectre(RF), GoldenGate, and ADS for S-parameter, HB and envelope simulations.
  • Experience with EM simulation tools such as HFSS, Clarity, and EMX.
  • Layout experience using the Cadence flow, including LVS and DRC; ability to coordinate with CAD engineers.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience addressing packaging effects, supply isolation, and high-frequency ESD structures.

Education Requirements

Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) required; Ph.D. preferred. Posting specifies over 12 years of experience in lieu of additional degree language.
