Job Title

Software Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Software Validation Engineer responsible for designing, executing, and analyzing software performance benchmarking and validation tests for FPGA-based systems and high-level FPGA designs.

Work with FPGA/HLD engineers and cross-functional teams to maintain test environments, automate test execution, troubleshoot failures, and deliver performance insights to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include translating use cases into testable scenarios, running benchmarks, and improving test automation and methodology.

  • Translate complex use cases into features, requirements, and test scenarios.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain test environments and infrastructure.
  • Design and execute software performance benchmarking and validation test cases.
  • Collect, validate, analyze, and report benchmark and performance data.
  • Analyze results, identify performance issues, and debug test failures.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation to improve test efficiency and repeatability.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to investigate issues and communicate findings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of benchmarking methodologies, tools, and processes.

Requirements

Key technical skills and attributes required or strongly preferred.

  • Must-have: Working knowledge of C/C++ and familiarity with at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, TCL, or shell).
  • Must-have: Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux operating environments.
  • Must-have: Fundamental knowledge of software/firmware verification and validation and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must-have: Good communication and collaboration skills, ability to work in a technical team and independently learn new technologies.
  • Nice-to-have: Basic understanding of FPGA programming or system design; knowledge of Verilog/VHDL is an advantage.
  • Nice-to-have: Interest or experience in AI/ML-related software validation and performance benchmarking.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
