Software Test Engineer
Role Summary
The Software Test Engineer will join the Design Data Management team within Engineering Enablement to develop, deploy and support internal data-management applications and test frameworks. The role focuses on delivering automated tests, self-service test tooling, and operational reporting while supporting users across a globally distributed engineering organization.
Experience Level
Mid-level (3β7 years). The posting indicates 4+ years of experience and semiconductor industry experience is an advantage.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building and executing automated tests and test frameworks, improving developer self-service, and automating repetitive tasks.
- Design, develop and maintain scalable test frameworks to enable developer self-service.
- Create, execute and document automated software tests and test plans.
- Automate reporting for test pass/fail rates and quality metrics.
- Automate repeatable operational tasks to reduce manual toil.
- Collaborate with developers and users to reproduce issues and validate fixes.
- Support deployed tooling across private and public cloud infrastructure and container platforms.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, tools and behaviours required to perform this role.
- Proficiency in one or more modern languages (Go, Python, TypeScript, Perl, Temporal, or similar) and corresponding testing/mocking frameworks.
- Familiarity with a source/data management platform such as Perforce, Git or Subversion.
- Practical experience with CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub Actions, etc.).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Podman) and comfort working in Linux environments.
- Knowledge of orchestration platforms (Swarm, OpenShift, Kubernetes).
- Experience with JIRA and JIRA Xray (test management) is required.
- Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, time management and ability to work in a distributed team.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% of the time.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Pytest and/or Playwright.
- Familiarity with automation/infrastructure tools such as Ansible or Terraform.
- Prior semiconductor industry experience (posting notes 4+ years is an advantage).
Education Requirements
Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Electronic & Computer Engineering or a similar field.
