Software QA Automation Engineer (Part-time)
Role Summary
Work on automated testing for Go Configure™ Software Hub, a suite of desktop EDA applications that run on Windows, Linux, and macOS. The role focuses on writing and maintaining Python-based automated tests, improving test stability and coverage, and validating releases.
This is a part-time, fixed-term contract (6 months) role with a hybrid work format based in Lviv, Ukraine. Flexible hours; 10 or 20 work hours per week.
Experience Level
Entry / Early career - requires approximately 2+ years of relevant practical experience in Python and software testing.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include test implementation, execution, and maintenance across desktop platforms.
- Review requirements and identify test coverage for automated suites.
- Write and maintain automated tests in Python using pytest and the internal automation framework.
- Run regression tests, analyze results, and investigate failures.
- Report defects and verify bug fixes as part of release validation.
- Maintain test cases, reports, and documentation.
- Improve test stability, maintainability, and automation framework capabilities.
- Test product functionality on Windows, Linux, and macOS.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience required to perform the role.
- 2+ years of experience with Python.
- Experience with pytest or another Python-based test framework.
- Solid understanding of software testing fundamentals: test design, regression testing, defect reporting, and documentation.
- Experience with Git or another version control system.
- Ability to analyze issues and communicate findings clearly.
- Intermediate English or higher for internal communication and documentation.
- Attention to detail and ability to learn new tools and adapt to a technical product domain.
Nice-to-have:
- Desktop application and GUI test automation experience.
- Experience testing on Windows, Linux, or macOS and familiarity with Qt applications.
- Experience with CI tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI) and test management tools (TestRail, TestLink).
- Experience with Jira, Redmine, or similar tracking tools.
- Familiarity with electronics, embedded systems, FPGA, semiconductor tools, or EDA software.
- Experience with automation tools such as Playwright, Appium, Squish, pywinauto, WinAppDriver, or Selenium.
