Software Manager, System Production Engineering (SPE)

Role Summary

Lead a team of software engineers in the System Production Engineering group to design, develop, and deliver production test solutions for NVIDIA networking systems (network switches). Collaborate with hardware engineers, software architects, R&D, product, and production-line teams to ensure robust, automated manufacturing test flows and high product quality.

The manager is accountable for the product lifecycle of production test software, raising engineering standards, and improving team capabilities and processes.

Experience Level

Senior β€” typically requires around 10+ years of software development/test automation/system validation experience and 5+ years of people management.

Responsibilities

Lead and deliver production test software and automation while managing team performance and cross-functional integration.

  • Manage, mentor, and grow an engineering team; plan and execute project delivery.
  • Define product features, roadmaps, and drive delivery from design through production deployment.
  • Design and develop production test software and automation frameworks for networking systems.
  • Collaborate with product, program, hardware, R&D, and production-line teams to align objectives and resolve issues.
  • Review system-level architectures (electrical, mechanical, process, software) to identify design and producibility issues.
  • Implement CI/CD, DevOps practices, and quality-assurance processes for test software.
  • Identify and mitigate program risks; resolve scope, schedule, and quality issues; improve team procedures.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience for immediate contribution.

  • ~10 years of experience in software development, test automation, or system validation.
  • 5+ years of experience building and leading software engineering teams.
  • Strong programming expertise in Python for system-level development.
  • Experience with production test development and automation frameworks.
  • Knowledge of Linux systems, embedded software, and firmware development.
  • Familiarity with hardware/software co-design, debugging, and system bring-up.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive software development methodologies, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage complex cross-functional projects.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering β€” or equivalent practical experience.
