Job Title

Software Engineering Leader

Role Summary

Lead developer-software teams that build analyzer and debugger products (examples: Intel System Debugger, Intel VTune Profiler). Own product strategy, delivery cadence, engineering productivity, and quality while enabling internal and external engineers. This role operates across multiple Intel sites and is eligible for a hybrid work model.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 15+ years of professional experience, including 10+ years leading software engineering teams and at least 5 years of technical experience in system profiling, debugger engineering, workload analysis, or compiler/library engineering.

Responsibilities

You will define direction, coordinate across hardware and software teams, and grow engineering capability to deliver reliable, high-impact products.

  • Set product vision and strategy; engage with strategic customers to validate direction and use cases.
  • Prioritize work across projects to focus on highest-value outcomes and predictable delivery.
  • Drive organizational change to improve engineering models, project selection, and community engagement.
  • Partner with internal hardware and software teams to align product requirements and schedules.
  • Ensure technical excellence and consistent user-focused product quality through disciplined engineering practices.
  • Mentor and develop engineering managers, architects, and engineers; manage performance and hiring.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • 15+ years of relevant experience, including 10+ years leading software engineering teams.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated technical experience in system profiling, power/performance analysis, debugger engineering, workload analysis, or compiler/library engineering.
  • Proven ability to define strategic goals and drive execution across multiple teams and locations.
  • Strong mentorship and people-management skills; experience hiring and developing senior engineering talent.
  • Must be able to pass an extended background investigation (Position of Trust).

Nice-to-have:

  • Deep understanding of AI/HPC systems and open-source ecosystems.
  • Experience in AI/machine-learning system development and next-generation systems engineering.
  • Effective communicator with senior leadership and external partners.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (as stated in the posting).
