Software Engineering Internship — LLM-Agent-based Constraint Debug for Simulation
Role Summary
Intern on the simulation verification team in Hsinchu working on analysis and tooling to debug constraint-related issues in simulation flows. The role focuses on prototyping and evaluating agent-based approaches to assist engineers in identifying and resolving constraint failures.
Work is in-office, full-time for an 8-week program starting July 2026; you will collaborate with engineers to run experiments, build prototypes, and document findings.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Intended for current undergraduate or graduate students; no prior industry experience required beyond relevant technical skills.
Responsibilities
Primary tasks include analysis, prototyping, evaluation, and documentation.
- Study and analyze constraint-related failures in simulation flows using existing code, configurations, logs, traces, and test cases.
- Explore and implement analysis techniques using logs, traces, and existing testcases to reason about constraint behavior.
- Develop and evaluate agent-based approaches (e.g., LLMs/agents) to support analysis and debugging of constraint-related issues.
- Prototype automation and analysis scripts or tools using C/C++ and Python.
- Design and run experiments or benchmarks, summarize results, and present findings to the engineering team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and environment familiarity.
- Proficient in C/C++ with ability to read and work in existing codebases.
- Working knowledge of Python for automation, prototyping, and analysis.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted or agent-based techniques (LLMs, agents, skills, or automated reasoning applied to engineering problems).
- Comfortable working in a Linux development environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Background in SystemVerilog, simulation, or verification methodologies.
- Familiarity with EDA tools or flows (simulation, acceleration, or emulation).
- Experience debugging constraint solving, randomization, or symbolic reasoning systems; understanding of SAT, BDD, or related techniques.
- Experience with large-scale data analysis, benchmarking, or experimental design.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (current enrollment required for internship).
