Software Engineering Intern, Compiler Verification - Spring 2027
NVIDIAJob Title
Software Engineering Intern, Compiler Verification - Spring 2027
Role Summary
Work on compiler verification within the CUDA software stack to validate compiler-generated code and its interactions with NVIDIA GPU architectures. The role combines low-level programming, test development, and collaboration with compiler and hardware engineers to improve compiler robustness across GPU platforms.
This is a hands-on engineering internship focused on practical compiler issues, testing, and tooling.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship intended for current graduate students (MS or PhD). No specific years of professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include developing tests, tools, and software to validate and exercise compiler behavior on GPU platforms.
- Develop programs and tests in PTX, CUDA, C/C++, or other low-level GPU languages to validate compilers and evaluate generated code.
- Build software components, libraries, and technical solutions to advance compiler verification and exploration.
- Collaborate with compiler and hardware engineers to investigate architectural and compiler interactions.
- Contribute to engineering projects that improve the scalability and robustness of the CUDA software stack.
Requirements
Minimum technical skills and capabilities expected from applicants.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar systems languages. (Must-have)
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software debugging fundamentals. (Must-have)
- Familiarity with compiler concepts, computer architecture, operating systems, or parallel programming. (Must-have)
- Ability to read technical details carefully, reason about complex behaviors, and communicate findings clearly in a collaborative engineering environment. (Must-have)
- Nice-to-have: exposure to compiler internals, code generation, static analysis, LLVM, or MLIR.
- Nice-to-have: experience with GPU programming (CUDA, PTX), low-level systems work, or program analysis.
Education Requirements
Pursuing an MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; graduate-level students preferred.
