Software Engineer (Intern)

Role Summary

As a Software Engineer Intern on the Customer Fleet and Scale (FSCE) team, you will develop, validate, and debug fleet-health and scale software for Intel server products used by data center customers. The role focuses on building analysis tools, stress workloads, telemetry, and platform-level debug to support on-time, high-quality server launches and in-fleet product experience.

This internship provides hands-on engineering experience working directly with customers and cross-functional platform teams.

Experience Level

Entry-level internship. Candidates must be current students and able to remain enrolled for the duration of the internship. Practical exposure of approximately 6 months to software development or relevant projects is expected.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain analysis and telemetry tools to assess Intel Server performance.
  • Define, implement, and execute stress workloads across platforms and software stacks.
  • Measure, analyze, and debug workloads to identify and mitigate performance gaps.
  • Perform platform-level debug and root-cause analysis for functional and triage failures.
  • Collaborate with IP, SoC, platform, validation, and software teams; engage directly with customers during validation and debugging.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications:

  • Solid programming skills in C++ and Python, including multithreaded programming techniques.
  • Approximately 6 months of software development experience via internships, projects, or coursework.
  • Understanding of server platform architecture and hardware/software debug and validation skills.
  • Customer-focused engineering mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
  • On-site availability in Guadalajara, Mexico; unrestricted permanent right to work in Mexico (this role is not eligible for visa or immigration sponsorship).

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related STEM field. Candidate must remain a student for the duration of the internship.
