Software Engineer Intern 6 C++

Role Summary

Internship position within the Strategic Student Program (SSP) at Siemens Digital Industries Software. The intern will join international Agile Scrum teams to develop Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software used across multiple industries.

Location: Katowice, Poland (hybrid). Working hours: full-time. Duration: 11 months.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship. Student or recent-student level; no specific years of professional experience required.

Responsibilities

The role focuses on contributing to product development, quality, and team collaboration.

  • Develop and implement features in C++ for EDA software.
  • Support testing activities, including developing Python-based tests.
  • Participate in software design discussions and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Scrum team to deliver incremental value.
  • Learn from and work with mentors; take ownership of assigned tasks.

Requirements

Must-have skills and conditions for candidates.

  • Able to work full-time for the 11-month internship duration.
  • Foundational software development experience; familiarity with C++ is a strong plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Python or an interest in testing methodologies.
  • Comfortable communicating in English.
  • Eligible to work legally in Poland without immigration support.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work; able to work independently and in teams.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in a university degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field (undergraduate level). Internship program targeted at students; no alternative "equivalent experience" language provided.
