Software Engineer Intern
Role Summary
Join the Virtual Platforms team within the Multimarket Business Group to develop functional simulations and embedded test software for System-on-Chip (SoC) architectures. The internship supports model development, test automation, and debugging to accelerate SoC validation.
Compensation: 11–16 EUR per hour.
Experience Level
Entry-level (internship). No professional experience required; role is intended for students in an academic program.
Responsibilities
Typical responsibilities include:
- Develop functional models to simulate SoC architectures.
- Write embedded software to test and validate models.
- Improve and contribute to test automation and scripting.
- Collaborate with engineers to debug and refine models and test cases.
- Document work to support knowledge transfer and future development.
Requirements
Key must-have and desirable skills for the role.
Must-have:
- Basic knowledge of C/C++ programming.
- Familiarity with embedded systems concepts and interest in firmware development.
- Good English communication skills (written and spoken).
- Proactive, willing to learn, and able to work effectively in a team.
- Applicants may need to be eligible to access export-controlled technology; non-U.S. applicants may undergo an export license review.
Nice-to-have:
- Basic understanding of ARM architecture.
- Exposure to processor simulation tools (e.g., SystemC, Gem5, SIMICS, QEMU).
- Interest in compiler concepts or code translation.
- Basic knowledge of network protocols.
- Familiarity with Python for scripting and automation.
Education Requirements
Must be currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering at a Spanish university.
