Software Engineer II: Hardware Verification R&D
Role Summary
Work on ATPG/DFT compiler and fault emulation features for Cadence Palladium emulation hardware as part of the HSV group in Belo Horizonte. The role develops and maintains software that generates hardware testbenches and supports functional-safety emulation workflows.
Experience Level
Entry-level - approximately 2 years of relevant software development experience is expected.
Responsibilities
Deliver and maintain features for ATPG/DFT and Fault Emulation products and support their deployment and validation.
- Implement new features from functional specification through code, unit tests, and regression tests.
- Maintain and improve existing code: bug fixes, refactoring, and performance tuning.
- Perform static analysis, performance evaluation, and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with Application Engineering to support customer deployments.
- Work with Product Engineering and Product Validation to specify and validate features.
Requirements
Minimum technical skills and experience required for successful performance in this role.
Must-have:
- About 2 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong object-oriented programming skills.
- Proficiency in C++.
- Solid knowledge of advanced data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with Unix/Linux development environments.
- Familiarity with version control systems (git, Perforce, or similar).
- Very good spoken and written English and Portuguese.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with compiler development.
- Scripting experience (Tcl or Python).
- Knowledge of EDA and VLSI design, including Verilog and VHDL.
- Familiarity with DFT/ATPG flows and ISO 26262.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
