Software Engineer II — Automotive Solutions
Role Summary
Join the Automotive Solutions Group to develop and deliver a Functional Safety analysis product integrated into the EDA flow. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and testing maintainable C++ software used by customers in automotive and ADAS domains.
The team works across disciplines on ISO26262 and IEC61508 safety requirements, using Agile practices in a cross-platform development environment.
Experience Level
Mid-level. The role requires a minimum of 2 years of software development experience in C/C++.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, implement, and test object-oriented C++ applications for functional safety analysis.
- Contribute to requirements definition and translate safety requirements into software features.
- Integrate Functional Safety considerations into the EDA tool workflow per ISO26262/IEC61508.
- Maintain cross-platform builds and ensure compatibility on Windows and Linux.
- Participate in code reviews, maintain coding standards, and produce unit and integration tests.
- Work in Agile teams and collaborate with international, cross-disciplinary stakeholders.
- Explore and apply modern AI techniques, including LLM-based agents, to accelerate development and testing.
- Document designs, test plans, and troubleshooting steps for team and customer use.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Minimum of 2 years development experience in C/C++ environments.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design principles and patterns.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce, SVN) and issue tracking tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Familiarity with Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration (CI/CD) and DevOps practices in cross-platform environments (Windows and Linux).
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or TCL.
- Good written and spoken English and Portuguese; strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary environment and eagerness to grow technically.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with the Qt framework.
- Previous experience leading a software development team.
- Experience designing RESTful APIs, particularly for desktop applications.
Education Requirements
Complete Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience (the posting allows equivalent experience in lieu of a degree).
