Job Title

Software Engineer, DOCA SDK

Role Summary

Develop core libraries and SDK components for NVIDIA's DOCA platform to enable high-performance SmartNIC functionality. Work on network acceleration, packet-processing frameworks, and integrations with upstream projects and host applications.

Team responsibilities include designing, implementing, and optimizing software that interacts with drivers, firmware, hardware, and higher-layer applications.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize software for network acceleration and SmartNIC-based services. Collaborate across teams and with customers to produce robust SDK components.

  • Architect and develop DOCA SDK components and libraries for SmartNICs.
  • Engage with customers and architects to gather requirements and translate them into software design.
  • Integrate and collaborate with other teams (drivers, kernel/firmware, hardware, and higher-layer apps like OVS/VPP).
  • Work on performance optimization and debugging of network and system code.
  • Contribute to upstream projects and maintain compatibility with common packet-processing frameworks.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 3+ years programming in C/C++.
  • 3+ years working in Linux environments and using Linux development tools.
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (primarily Ethernet) and security protocols.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep knowledge of computer architecture and operating systems.
  • Experience in performance optimization of system and network code.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with DPDK and PMD development.
  • Experience designing SDKs and APIs.
  • Open-source contributions to projects such as OVS, DPDK, or the Linux kernel.
  • Experience leading a small team or owning a multi-engineer feature.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
