Job Title
Software Engineer (Circuit Analysis, EDA frameworks, AI agents)
Role Summary
Design, implement, and maintain software for transistor-level electrical circuit simulation and integrate those tools with emerging agentic AI frameworks. The role is on a team modernizing VLSI circuit simulation within the electronic design automation (EDA) portfolio to deliver production-quality simulation technologies.
Experience Level
Mid-level (mid-career).
Responsibilities
The engineer will deliver software features, improve code quality, and integrate AI-assisted workflows into circuit simulation products.
- Design and implement new features and interfaces for circuit simulation tools.
- Develop and maintain modular, production-quality code using modern C++ and Python.
- Implement and improve continuous integration, unit testing, and quality assurance processes.
- Integrate AI-assisted development workflows and Agentic AI components into EDA frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional, geographically distributed engineering teams to ship releases.
- Refactor existing codebases to improve maintainability and performance.
Requirements
Key technical requirements and preferred skills. Degree requirements are summarized separately under Education Requirements.
-
Must-have: Strong software engineering fundamentals: design, refactoring, debugging, testing, and componentized modular design.
-
Must-have: Proficient in Python and C++ and experience delivering production software systems.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with test-driven development, unit testing, CI/CD automation, and code review processes.
-
Must-have: Ability to design and deploy production software that consumes ML/LLM services (you will not be training new ML models).
-
Nice-to-have: Practical knowledge of modern LLMs and trade-offs (latency, cost, reliability) and experience integrating AI tools into engineering workflows.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with agent architectures (ReAct, planning/self-correction), retrieval/RAG pipelines, embeddings, and context engineering.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with EDA tools and VLSI circuit simulation (e.g., SPICE, Spectre).
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering (the posting specifies MS/PhD in Computer Science/Computer Engineering).
