Job Title

Software Engineer - C++ / Compiler (Digital Logic Design)

Role Summary

Work on the Hardware Assisted Verification (HAV) team developing compiler software that maps System-on-Chip designs to emulator hardware. Primary tasks include analysis, partitioning, placement and synthesis to enable loading designs onto Siemens EDA emulation systems.

Development is primarily in C++ on Linux; the role involves cross-team collaboration with software and hardware engineers in a multi-site environment. Candidates must be able to work on-site from the Burlington, MA office (hybrid).

Experience Level

Entry-level - 0 to 3 years of industry software development experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and implement compiler components that analyze and map customer designs to emulator resources.
  • Analyze clock and data networks; perform partitioning, placement, and logic synthesis for emulation mapping.
  • Develop and maintain C++ code on Linux for production compiler features.
  • Create and run system-level tests using software simulation; develop new testing methods.
  • Collaborate with other software teams and Veloce hardware teams across sites.
  • Support and improve existing functionality and performance of the compiler.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills.

  • Must-have: 0–3 years experience developing large C++ applications as part of a team.
  • Must-have: Strong algorithm and data structure design skills.
  • Must-have: Understanding of gate-level digital logic design.
