Job Title

Software Engineer

Role Summary

Develop and maintain software and automation for Design-for-Test (DFT) and EDA flows focused on 2.5D/3D System-in-Package (SiP) design. Work with CAD, DFT, and design teams to deliver tools and infrastructure for architectural planning, physical design, multi-die analysis, and manufacturing test.

This role contributes to improving semiconductor design productivity, testability, and manufacturing readiness.

Experience Level

Mid-level — typically 4+ years relevant experience (see Education Requirements for degree guidance).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include development of test-related software, automation, and infrastructure to support DFT workflows and EDA tool chains.

  • Develop test pattern generation, fault analysis, and DFT automation using Python, Tcl/Tk, and Shell/Bash.
  • Create scalable automation to streamline DFT workflows and manage large-scale design data.
  • Improve and optimize DFT methodologies for advanced technology nodes to reduce test cost, increase fault coverage, and improve test time efficiency.
  • Collaborate with CAD, DFT, and design teams to integrate solutions aligned with industry standards (IEEE 1149.x, 1500, 1687, 1838).
  • Lead build and EDA infrastructure tasks including tool installation, server environment setup, and cross-platform support on Linux and Windows.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Proven software development skills in C++ and Python; experience with Tcl/Tk and Shell/Bash scripting.
  • Strong understanding of data structures and software protocols; experience developing on Linux and Windows.
  • Deep knowledge of ASIC DFT methodologies such as Scan, MBIST, and ATPG; experience with test generation and fault analysis.
  • Experience building scalable automation and handling large design datasets.
  • Effective independent and team collaboration skills; strong written and verbal English communication.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with DFT tools such as Siemens Tessent.
  • Familiarity with STACK solutions and HSIO technologies.
  • Practical exposure to LBIST and related on-chip test technologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in a related field.
