Role Summary

Join the Architecture and Technology Group (ATG) modelling team to develop functional and performance models and run performance studies that evaluate and shape next-generation CPU and system architecture features.

You will work with senior architects across locations to design, build and validate models used to assess architecture trade-offs and performance impact.

Mid-level — typically 3–5 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

The role focuses on model development, evaluation and performance analysis to support architecture specification and decision-making.

  • Evaluate modelling technologies and select appropriate approaches for architecture studies.
  • Design and implement functional and performance models for CPU, system IP and SoC components.
  • Plan and execute performance studies to quantify architecture trade-offs and feature impact.
  • Collaborate with senior architects and geographically distributed teams to define study requirements and interpret results.
  • Iterate models in a fast-evolving environment and communicate findings to influence architecture decisions.

  • Must-have: Strong programming skills in C/C++.

  • Must-have: Ability to learn new domains and tools quickly.
  • Nice-to-have: Additional experience in architecture modelling or advanced performance analysis techniques.
