Software Engineer

Role Summary

Engineer software tools and automation for advanced packaging and silicon enablement within Intel Foundry Technology Manufacturing. The role focuses on building AI/ML-enabled engineering applications that accelerate workflows, increase productivity, and support research-driven development.

On-site presence is required at the primary engineering location (Phoenix, AZ); collaborate with research, product, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Deliver production-quality software and AI/ML-enabled features that improve engineering workflows and automation.

  • Design, develop, and enhance engineering tools and automation solutions for advanced packaging and silicon enablement.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques end-to-end to enable predictive capabilities, data-driven automation, and workflow optimization.
  • Integrate ML models and intelligent features into software systems and services.
  • Contribute to architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering, research, and product teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Evaluate and adopt new AI/ML technologies, frameworks, and approaches.
  • Support prototyping, experimentation, and iterative refinement in a research-focused environment.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and cross-functional problem solving.

Requirements

Minimum technical skills and experience required for initial consideration; preferred items listed separately.

  • Must-have: ~6 months of software development experience building engineering applications, automation tools, or enterprise software.
  • Must-have: Hands-on experience applying AI/ML technologies within software systems.
  • Must-have: Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java.
  • Must-have: Experience with software design, development, testing, and debugging in collaborative teams.
  • Nice-to-have: Production experience designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable AI/ML systems (LLMs, embeddings, vector DBs, RAG).
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn), MLOps/LLMOps practices, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud platforms, REST/gRPC APIs.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with data pipelines, big-data/streaming technologies (Spark, Kafka), databases (SQL/NoSQL), CI/CD, and distributed system design.

Education Requirements
