Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer

Role Summary

As a Software Enabling and Optimization Engineer at Altera, you will be part of the Customer Experience Group, providing technical support aimed at resolving customer issues with Transceiver, Ethernet, and 5G IPs. Your role involves collaborating with customers and sales teams throughout the product lifecycle from prototype to production, establishing yourself as a technical expert in the field.

Experience Level

Mid-level, requiring 5-7 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Generating designs for Transceivers, Ethernet 10G to 400G, and 5G IPs.
• Demonstrating protocol IP use models and performance to customers.
• Creating collateral such as user guides and reference designs.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams for issue resolution and validation.

Requirements

The following qualifications are necessary:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 7+ years of experience or a Master's Degree with 5+ years of experience.
• Programming experience in languages such as VHDL, Verilog, C++, Perl, Python, or TCL.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience with FPGAs.
• Circuit Design / Digital Logic knowledge.
• Familiarity with business principles in sales and marketing.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
