Software Development Student

Role Summary

The intern will develop and maintain IDE-based tooling used to test and validate Intel products, working on a domain-specific language (DSL) project. Development work is primarily in C# and the team focuses on post-silicon tool development.

Work within a software engineering team that delivers globally deployed test and validation tools, emphasizing quality, fast delivery, and strong user experience. The role is eligible for Intel's hybrid work model.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining software tools and IDE features for the team's DSL and validation workflows.

  • Design and implement features for an IDE-based toolchain used in post-silicon validation.
  • Develop, test, and maintain code (primarily in C#) with attention to quality and user experience.
  • Participate in code reviews, debugging, and automated testing to ensure reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tools into product development workflows.
  • Apply software engineering best practices and contribute to delivery of globally deployed tools.

Requirements

Must-have skills and availability for the internship; preferred skills listed separately.

  • Availability to work ~20 hours per week.
  • Experience building GenAI applications.
  • Basic object-oriented design and programming experience.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Fluent English, speaking and writing.
  • Preferred: Experience with C#; strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. or M.Sc. student in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field; must have at least three semesters remaining until graduation. Equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
