Job Title

Software Development Engineer

Role Summary

Work on Siemens EDA's HAV Solutions Group Interconnect Solutions R&D team in New Cairo to design, implement, and release interconnect software for emulation and FPGA prototyping platforms. The role is within an Agile Scrum team and involves software–hardware integration, debugging, specification writing, and customer support for global products.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and release software that meets functional, reliability, performance, and usability requirements.
  • Develop software layers for interconnect protocols (PCIe, CXL, UCIe, NVMe) using C/C++ and SystemC.
  • Integrate software and hardware components into fully functional systems and support bring-up.
  • Debug and analyze product issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes and enhancements.
  • Participate in project planning, task breakdown, tracking, and risk identification within an Agile/Scrum process.
  • Produce professional functional and design specification documents.
  • Collaborate with team members to apply best practices and advance technology; support customer training and design sessions.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

  • Strong C/C++ programming experience in a Linux development environment.
  • Experience with SystemC.
  • Good knowledge of computer architecture, including x86.
  • Familiarity with IC design and verification flows and methodologies.
  • Experience with hardware description languages (Verilog or VHDL).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, and/or Tcl.
  • Experience integrating software with hardware and debugging complex systems.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Experience developing protocol stacks or drivers for PCIe, CXL, UCIe, or NVMe.
  • Experience with emulation and FPGA prototyping platforms.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams on globally-distributed projects.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
