Role Summary

Join the Hardware Assisted Verification team to develop and enhance Synopsys verification tools. The role focuses on designing and implementing high-performance, memory-efficient software components and tool features used in hardware verification flows.

Work within a multi-person R&D environment to maintain and improve existing tools, collaborate with internal teams and customers, and deliver solutions that increase product performance and adoption.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintain and enhance existing verification tools, improving versatility, performance, and memory usage.
• Design and implement efficient algorithms and data structures to improve tool performance.
• Develop complex, large-scale software components in a multi-person product development environment with tight schedules and high dependencies.
• Collaborate with Synopsys R&D members and customers to gather requirements and align product goals.
• Apply judgment to develop methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to meet project objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement of software development processes and contribute to product quality and regression testing efforts.

Requirements

• In-depth understanding of data structures, algorithms, and their application to performance-sensitive software.
• Strong software development skills in C/C++ on UNIX/Linux platforms.
• Proven analytical, debugging, and problem-solving abilities when working with large code bases.
• Experience developing complex software code-based tools.

Nice-to-have:

• Exposure to Python, Tcl, and shell scripting.
• Familiarity with HDL languages such as Verilog or SystemVerilog.
• Background in hardware functional verification, synthesis techniques, software specification, design processes, or regression testing.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience. (Degree and specific experience requirements are listed in the source.)
