Software Developer β€” C++ / Linux / ILT

Role Summary

Develop and enhance the platform for Calibre Resolution Enhancement Technology (RET) and Inverse Lithography (ILT) tools running on highly scalable, distributed platforms. Work as part of the Calibre Semi ILT R&D team reporting to the R&D manager to deliver production-quality EDA software focused on performance and scalability.

Responsibilities

Deliver and maintain production-ready C++ software for high-performance EDA tools; analyze and improve performance and quality across a scalable, parallel platform.

  • Design and implement robust, object-oriented C++ solutions for complex problems.
  • Perform detailed, quantitative performance and quality analysis; optimize massively parallel and scalable software.
  • Present technical proposals and design decisions to peers and management.
  • Create and maintain regression tests; monitor software performance and quality.
  • Investigate and fix production bugs rapidly.
  • Research relevant prior work and applicable techniques in the field.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience (degree requirements summarized under Education Requirements).

  • Strong C++ (object-oriented) development skills and experience navigating large codebases.
  • Experience developing highly optimized, scalable distributed systems in C++.
  • Solid Linux development skills, including debugging and performance tooling.
  • Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, and computer systems.
  • Experience with performance analysis and optimization for parallel software.
  • Proven ability to create regression tests and maintain software quality.
  • Ability to quickly diagnose and fix production issues.
  • Employment may require compliance with U.S. export control rules (ITAR/EAR); role may require U.S. Person status or obtaining an export license.

Nice-to-have: direct EDA experience (lithography, optical proximity correction), and prior work on large commercial software systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor of Science in EE (BSEE), Master of Science (MSEE/MS), or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. The posting specifies at least 3 years of software development experience as a requirement.
